What I have Learned From Blogs
What
I learned about the professional learning network on social media is that
creating these accounts are a create way to find and collaborate with other
teachers. It is a great way to meet new people and gain connections with other
teachers. Apps like twitter and Instagram are great ways to a community
and for people to voice their opinion. Another thing I learned is that it is
when following people on social media it is a great thing to follow people who
will challenge your thoughts and that have a different few on certain things
than you. In doing that you will be able to learn new ways about a certain
topic in education. Another reason for doing for following someone that you do
not have the same thoughts as it can give you better views and can help you to
widen your thoughts.
Some key things that I have learned are that social media and blogging are great things for teachers to do. Many good things are able to come out of it. It is a great way to create community's and for people to voice their opinions out and to help answer questions an teachers may have. Another key thing I learned is that social media is a great way for teachers to meet other teachers and learn from other teachers, just like Laurie our presenter she said she has met so many people and that it is what has kept her in education for so long. A final key thing that I have learned from our guest speaker is to follow people who challenge your thoughts as I have said earlier she said it is a great way to learn more and to go outside you comfort zone.
Some positives with social media are that it is a great way to meet new teachers and to talk and learn new things like teaching styles. It’s a great thing for new teachers as well so they don’t have to start from scratch they can find a older teacher and learn from them. The downsides of social media in education is that things could get to personal and go sideways and a person could be offended.
